Blue:
405 nm diode type:
Those diodes are also used in Blu-ray players.
The color is very dark (300mW maximum), which makes it difficult
recommended for laser shows.
445 nm diode type:
Deep blue and not very visible alone. Colors are very brilliant. This
kind of blue will allow a good cold white balance. This diode is
implemented in almost all laser projectors. Single diodes are up to
1.5W. It's possible to find modules from 300mW to 30W.
The single diode with optic correction can create a 1,5 × 3mm
beam with 2mrad divergence. Without correction it is
2 × 6mm and 2mrad wide.
473 nm DPSS type:
Fine high-quality laser. The blue 473nm DPSS used to be the most
common before 445nm diodes came up. They offer clearly visible
blue and can usually appear with a power range between
20mW and 1W, with a beam of 3mm and 1,5mrad.
Green: 520 nm diode type:
New in the market. Those diodes provide a strong green, a bit less
yellowish than the standart 532nm diode but with great
possibilities of modulation for a large pallet of colors. The Beam size
is similar to the 637nm diode (1,5mm and 0,5mrad).
Each diode is 120mW.
532nm DPSS Type:
The most common kind of green (yellowish) among DPSS.
Very powerful and bright. Typical beam is 2mrad and 3mm.
Red:
635 nm diode type:
Red (slightly passing into orange) beam of the same size as the
650 nm diode (2.5 mrad and 6 × 6mm). The colors are very brilliant.
It usually has an output power between 150mw and 1W.
637 nm diode type:
Pure red with clear beam (1,5mm and 0,5mrad), the finest quality
available on the market as of today. It replaced the old 640/642nm
diode. It appears in modules between 170mW-20W.
