Near fluorescent tubes or mains cables, or in areas with an above average level of electrical "noise"
(minimum distance 50 cm).
!
Areas where excessive dust or dirt may impair the function of the detector (eg. in workshops or
barns).
Installation
!
Remove the heat detector [2] from the mounting plate [1] by turning it counter-clockwise.
!
Hold the mounting plate [1] in the chosen location, and mark through the fixing holes [10] using a
pencil.
!
Drill holes for the screws at the marked points.
!
Fix the mounting plate [1] using the screws and wall plugs provided.
!
Connect the battery [9] with the battery clip [8].
!
Place the heat detector onto the mounting plate [1] so that the fastenings of the mounting plate [1]
can be placed into the openings [7].
!
Push the heat detector slightly upwards and turn it clockwise until it locks.
!
Test the function of the device by pressing the test button [3] for up to 4 seconds until the alarm
sounds.
Operation
Normal operation
The indicator [5] flashes approx. every 30-40 seconds.
Alarm
If the device detects a high temperature a loud pulsating alarm sounds and the indicator [6] flashes
approx. every second. In case of an alarm, always check if there is a fire. If you are in doubt, always
assume that there is an actual fire and act accordingly (see: What to do in case of fire?).
When the temperature decreases the heat detector will reset automatically into normal operation mode.
Low battery warning
If the device beeps approx. every 30-40 seconds, together with a flash of the indicator [5], the battery
must be replaced.

Battery replacement

Remove the heat detector from the mounting plate [1] by turning it counter-clockwise.
!
Remove the used battery from the heat detector.
!
Connect a new battery with the battery clip [8].
!
Place the heat detector onto the mounting plate [1] so that the fasteners of the mounting plate can
be placed into the openings [7].
!
Push the heat detector slightly upwards and turn it clockwise until it locks.
!
Test the function of the device immediately after the battery replacement by pressing the test button
[3] for up to 4 seconds until the alarm sounds.

Maintenance and cleaning

!
Test the heat detector monthly, for example when cleaning, by pressing the test button [3] for up to
4 seconds until the alarm sounds.
!
Use a dry and soft cloth to clean the surfaces of the device.
!
Carefully clean the heat detector every 6 months using a vacuum cleaner.
!
If the heat detector is damaged it must be replaced.
!
Replace the heat detector within 10 years, at the latest 13 years, from the date of manufacture.
Disposal
Do not dispose of packaging material, used batteries or products as household waste. Use your
recycling system. Details are available from your local authority.
