IntrODuctIOn
Thank you for purchasing the new KETRON KLAVI Pro. KLAVI Pro is a Professional Class Piano
module designed for musicians who regard the 'Piano' as the fundamental sound for their
studio projects and performances. KLAVI Pro may be small in size, but delivers an innovative,
high quality Stereo Grand Piano sound. This is achieved by meticulous, multi level samples
that are captured note by note from one of the finest Concert Grand Piano's in existence.
The result is quite simply remarkable. The Grand Piano samples perfectly reproduce the
warmth and natural resonance of the piano strings, something never before achieved in
product of this nature, size and price!
KLAVI Pro features 2 Grand Pianos and 2 Electric pianos with multi layered samples &
articulations, 2 FM pianos plus several electric and acoustic patches.
The KLAVI Pro sound module can be easily controlled by any Midi capable Master Keyboard,
Digital Piano or Personal keyboard. Incredible sound quality coupled with true voice
characteristics (due to KETRON'S new Voice Character Emulation or 'VCE'), mean the KLAVI
Pro can become part of your professional music studio set up in place of expensive and
complicated software or virtual instruments!
Before you use your KLAVI Pro instrument, make sure you read all the instructions carefully
in order to fully exploit its potentials and to ensure its long life. Keep this manual in a safe
place for future reference.

CONTENTS OF THE PACKAGE

The original package of your KLAVI Pro instrument includes the following material:
a) KLAVI Pro unit
b) Instruction manual
c) DC External Power supply - 12 Volts
Optional accessory : Midi to USB cable. This is required to use KLAVI Pro with a Laptop, due
indeed to the fact that portable computers do not have their own Midi interface (unless they
are equipped with additional boards such as Firewire, USB etc.). This cable is used for the
communication of the midi data from your portable computer with the Midi In of KLAVI Pro
via the USB connection.
TURNING ON
To turn the KLAVI Pro unit on, simply connect the feeder supplied with the instrument to the
mains. The LED on the front panel lights up to point out that the instrument is working.
1 On / Off: Main ON/OFF switch of the KLAVI Pro
instrument. When the LED lights up, it points
out that the instrument is working. The LED will
flash if there is any Midi In activity.
2 Volume: Slider that controls the general
volume of KLAVI Pro. This volume also affects
the Headphone output.
3 Headphone: Connection for stereo headphones
with low impedance.
