3. Description

The pumps are equipped with a robust single-phase motor .
The power transmission from motor to impeller occurs sealless with a magnet drive.
All pumps are fitted with a 10 m main supply cable- The standard voltage is 230 V / 50 Hz single-phase.
- This appliance must be connected to an earthed outlet.
- Operation on a residual current device (RCD) of 30 mA capacity is recommended.
- Do not lower or raise the pump with the power cable.
A demaged power cable must be replaced immediately by a qualified electrician.
Danger of personal injury by electrical shock if operated with a demaged cable!
Caution!
- Greatest care should be exercised by using electrical pumps in swimming pools and similar installations
(i. e. ponds).
Before using the pump ensure the installation fully complies with DIN VDE 0100 part 702 or the
current edition of the IEE wiring regulations - BS 8771, and other local legislation.
If in doubt consult a qualified electrician.

4. Installation and commencement of operation

Before installing and starting please check the pump at possible demages (i.e. during trans
port) to prevent personal injury by electrical shock.
If the pump is used in a sump or shaft, this sump or shaft should have a minimum size of 450 x 450 x 450 mm.
The inlet sieve must not be blocked by mud and/or fibrous media.
The mounted float switch must be able to move freely. If the water level rises and the float switch goes up, the
pump switches on until the water level is so low that the float switch turns off the pump.
Switch on and switch off level can be adjusted by moving the float cable at the mounting bracket on the handle.
The function of the float switch can be checked by moving it up and down.
For pumps with compact floats (ZM ... KS), the switching points can be changed by moving the floats on the bar.
The function can be checked by lifting the bar with the floats.
The pump must be absolutely vertical, especially with the version with compact float!
In case of pumps without floating switch, the pumping process starts with connecting the plug to the socket.
Attention:
The pump must not run dry as the bearing of the impeller is lubricated by the pumped liquid.
In case of a blocked impeller, the magnet field to the impeller is interrupted and the motor continues to
run. To re-start the pump, switch it off and wait until the motor stops. Afterwards the pump may be
switched on again. Potentially the blocking must be removed acc. to point 5 of this operation manual.
This pump with magnet drive is visible equipped with a red handle.
