The automatic calibration uses the installed known standards to calibrate the analyzer. Calibration
can be done manually or scheduled to occur automatically. Use the calibration menu to view
calibration data, start or cancel the auto calibration, override the auto cal settings, calibrate manually
or to reset to the default calibration.
1. Push cal to display the calibration menu.

1. Push cal, then select SET AUTO CALIBRATION.
2. Select SLOPE CAL and/or ZERO CAL.
Note: ZERO CAL determines the reagent blank value of the user-prepared reagents (molybdate and sulfuric
acid). To determine the reagent blank value accurately, the silica concentration of the process water should be
less than 5 ppb and must be constant. Only use ZERO CAL with these conditions. Use multiple ZERO CAL
determinations to validate the reagent blank value. If the reagent blank value is not accurate, the analyzer will
not give accurate results during normal operation.
Note: Do not use ZERO CAL with Hach reagents. The reagent blank value of Hach reagents (molybdate) is
measured during controlled conditions at the factory and is very accurate. To enter the reagent blank value for
Hach reagents, use the OVERRIDE CALIBRATION option (refer to
