4 Installation
4.1 Delivery check
If there are any damaged or missing parts when the
product is delivered, notify the carrier and the local
Nederman representative immediately.
4.2 Mounting instruction
The reel can be wall, floor or ceiling mounted, see
ure 2. Maximum installation height above floor level
is 4 m, see Figure 3. Select a level surface on which
to mount the reel, and use the template on the side
of the packing to mark the holes. Use suitable fixing
bolts and make sure that they are secure. The bolts
must be able to withstand a minimum torque force of
3800 N.
When choosing mounting place, note that the life
span of the hose reel can be reduced by the influence
of chemicals and strong UV or heat radiation.
4.3 Hose outlet
See Figure 4. The hose outlet can be fitted in two po-
sitions. Choose the position where the hose is bent as
little as possible.
4.4 Connection to the pipework system
See Figure 4. The reel must be connected to the pipe-
work system with hose only, minimum 1,0 m. The inlet
hose should go through the ring fitted on the tubular
stand. Check that the hose is not twisted or strained
after connection. A stop valve should be fitted on the
pipe system before the hose connection.
4.5 Ratchet mechanism
The Hose Reel Series 893 is delivered with a ratchet
mechanism which retains the hose in the required
outdrawn position, see Figure 5. The ratchet will dis-
engage if the hose is drawn out a little further and the
hose then recoils to the drum. It is to be noted that the
hose is to be held by the hand as long as possible dur-
ing the recoiling.
The ratchet function can be disengaged by remov-
ing the ratchet. In that case, the hose must first have
completely recoiled.
