Problem
The coffee is too
weak.
The coffee does not
taste very good.
The device switches
off during the brewing
process.
A large amount of
steam is produced in
the brewing process.
During use, an
unpleasant smell is
detected.
The device does not
start the brewing pro-
cess at the set timer
time.

Possible cause
There is too much water in
the water tank (3).
There is not enough coffee
powder in the permanent
fi lter (17).
The device needs to be
cleaned.
The coffee powder is too fi ne-
ly or too coarsely ground.
The coffee/water mixture is
not ideal.
The water quality is not good. Check the water quality and
There is no longer any water
in the water tank (3).
The device is furred up.
The device is being used for
the fi rst time.
The device has previously
been descaled.
The power supply has been
cut in between times.
Fix
Only pour the quantity of
water required for the number
of cups you want into the
water tank.
We recommend pouring one
heaped measuring spoon of
coffee powder per cup into
the permanent fi lter.
Use the
button (8) to
increase the coffee strength if
required.
Clean the device (see the
"Cleaning and Care" chap-
ter).
Adjust the grinding fi ne-
ness of the coffee (or have
it adjusted) if necessary
or choose another coffee
powder.
Adjust the mixture to your
own individual taste.
fi lter the water if necessary.
Pour water into the water
tank.
Descale the device with a
standard descaling agent for
coffee machines.
A smell often develops when
new devices are fi rst used.
The smell should disappear
once the device has been
used several times.
Rinse out the device with
clear water.
As soon as the power supply
is cut, all settings (time, timer)
are cancelled.
