1. Lower exhaust as follows:
On Driver's side: Disconnect rubber exhaust hanger forward of muffler.
On Passenger's Side: Remove exhaust hanger bracket by removing (2) M8 fasteners. Discard M8 fasteners.
2. Fishwire carriage bolts and ¼ x 1 x 3 spacer blocks up thru large slots in each frame rail and down thru attaching holes as shown above. See
Figure 3.
Note: On passenger's side, refer to Figure 2 to reverse fishwire block and bolt up thru large slot and back down thru same slot.
3. Raise hitch into position, being careful not to push bolts back into frame, and secure with conical toothed washers and nuts.
Note: Trim or bend heat shield as necessary to allow hitch installation.
4. Tighten all ½" GR5 fasteners with torque wrench to 75 Lb.-Ft. (102 N*M)
5. Raise exhaust back into position. On driver's side, re-attach rubber exhaust hanger. On passenger's side, re-attach exhaust hanger bracket
with M8 x 1.25 x 35mm Hex bolt ass'ys provided with hitch, thru slots in side bracket into weldnuts in vehicle frame.
6. Tighten all M8 x 1.25 CL9.8 fasteners to 20 Lb.-Ft. (27 N*M
Note: check hitch frequently, making sure all fasteners and ball are properly tightened. If hitch is removed, plug all holes in trunk pan or other body panels to prevent
entry of water and exhaust fumes. A hitch or ball which has been damaged should be removed and replaced. Observe safety precautions when working beneath a
vehicle and wear eye protection. Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch.
