Detaching of the interception tank:
o Grab both sides of the interception tank and pull.
Attaching of the interception tank:
o Insert the upper edge into the cannelure of the interception tank and press it on.
After every use the water drop-interception tank should be detached and emptied!
Precautions
 The appliance does not function if the pan is not in the cooker.
 Always keep the bottom of the pan clean and dry. Any residues
between the bottom of the pan and the heater will cause the cooker to
malfunction.
 Do not attempt to press the switch by force if the switch button cannot
be pressed in the cooking position. The switch normally remains in that
position when the pan is not in the cooker or just after cooking has been
completed.
 The appliance should be placed on a stable surface. Do not expose to
water, steam or direct heat .
 Do not cover the lid with anything when the rice cooker is in use.
 Do not use the pan directly on open fire.
 Do not immerse the cooker in water and avoid putting the cooker near fire.
 Hendi supplies this cooker with an additional burnt proof griddle that should be put at the
bottom of the pan and avoids sticking of rice.
How to cook rice
1. Measure rice with the measuring cup.
o Wash rice in another bowl until water is relatively clear. Bran may give an uppleasant
odour to cooked rice. Wash rice thoroughly and quickly to effectively remove the bran.
2. Place the washed rice in the pan and then add water. E.g. to cook 10 cups of
rice, fill the water till the indicatior level 10.Do not cook more than the
maximum level.
3. Place the pan in the rice cooker. Ensure the pan is directly in contact with the
heating plate by turning it slightly form the right to the left until it fits properly.
 Wipe dry the outside of the pan before use. A wet pan may cause
cracking noise while cooking and may damage the unit.
4. Close the lid until it clicks. If the lid is not closed securely the cooking
result will be effected.
5. Attach the power cord to the cooker and then connect it to the power
supply. Press the switch. The red 'Cooking' light will light to indicate the start of the cooking
process.
 When power cord is attached, the yellow 'Keep Warm' indication light will be
on. This does not mean that the rice is cooking.
 Press the switch when the rice is ready to cook. The 'Cooking Indication
Light' will turn on (red).
6. When the rice is ready, the switch will pop up. 'The Keep Warm' indicator will light up to
indicate that the 'Keep Warm function' has started.
7. After the switch button pops up: leave the lid for at least 15 minutes on the
appliance to steam the rice.
8. Scoop and mix the rice well.
9. The 'Keep Warm function' will continue until the power cord will be unplugged.
10. This rice cooker is suitable for 30 cups (180 ml) of dry rice.
