USING THE KNIFE AND SCISSOR SHARPENER
Do not attempt to sharpen hollow ground blades or those with serrated edges.
Be sure the knife is clean and free of grease.
Place heel of knife into the guide slot located on the back of can opener. Lightly draw the
blade towards you, applying a slight downward pressure. Repeat this procedure six to seven
times to put a sharp edge on the knife.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
To ensure proper sanitation, all removable parts on the can opener should be detached and
cleaned thoroughly in warm, soapy water at regular intervals. Before cleaning, unplug the
cord from the outlet. Do not put the main body (motor parts) in water.
Never submerge the can opener in water. Unplug the cord from the power outlet. Lift the
piercing lever to a vertical position. Hold the can opener and ease the cutting assembly out
of its case. Wash in dishwasher or in hot, soapy water. Rinse and dry.
To replace blade assembly, hold the piercing lever in a vertical position. Insert shaft into key
hole. Push in the piercing lever all the way. Rotate the piercing lever clockwise until it is
horizontal. If the lever is properly engaged, it cannot be removed from the can opener when
in a horizontal position.
Hint: The cutting mechanism may collect food or paper from can labels and should be
washed frequently.
