3.3 MOUNTING CONFIGURATION
The procedures indicated in this manual must be performed by qualifi ed technicians. Ensure the Matrx PB is
properly secured to the wheelchair before using. Otherwise injury or damage may occur.
1. Remove existing wheelchair back upholstery and tension back.
2. Install the universal clamp (ALCMT36) by lightly tightening the screws (BULL31) on the transverse tube of the
wheelchair.
3. Place the shell as desired height by matching the holes on the back with the holes on the clamp.
4. Place the washers (BULL22) and tighten the supplied hexagon socket screws (BULL18).
5. Adjust the angle of the backrest as desired by tightening the hexagonal screws of the clamp (BULL31).
6. Position the padding paying attention to cover the edges of the backrest shell to avoid injury to the user.
7. In order to better determine the correct depth and the angle of the backrest, the user must be seated on the
wheelchair.
8. The clamps and screws of the kit must be fully tightened after installing the backrest and after each
adjustment and maintenance.

4. USAGE

4.1 LUMBAR SUPPORT INSTALLATION/ADJUSTMENT

ATTENTION !
The installation hardware provided is high strength and tested for durability. DO
NOT substitute hardware. Use only the hardware supplied.
WARNING !
Improper confi guration of the fi xing pins can damage the back shell and/or the
fi xing clamp. Make sure that the pins are fully tightened; otherwise you could
damage the back shell and/or the fi xing clamp. NEVER use glue on the fi xing
pins. It is preferable after any repairs or adjustments to use the thread locker to
prevent the pins from loosening over time.
IMPORTANT !
The Lumbar Support is a pre-fabricated foam insert that provides lower back
support for additional comfort. The position of the lumbar insert can be adjusted
inside the ARIA® POSTURAL BACKREST cover, or it may be removed if no
lumbar support is desired.
