Your Jamie Oliver barbecue has been designed for barbecuing outdoors.
This barbecue is intended for consumer use only.
• ATTENTION! This barbecue will become very hot, do not move it during operation.
• Do not use indoors!
• WARNING! Keep children and pets away.
• CAUTION! Do not use spirits or petrol for lighting or re-lighting! Use only firelighters complying to
EN 1860-3!
The barbecue should be heated up and the charcoal should be red hot for at least 30 minutes prior to the first cooking.
Warning! - General safety rules - Read all instructions.
Failure to follow all instructions listed below may result in fire and/or serious injury.
1. This barbecue is specifically designed for outdoor use only. Indoor use will allow toxic fumes to accumulate
which can cause serious bodily harm or death. Never use this barbecue indoors, even if ventilation is provided.
2. When using lighter fluid beware of any fluid that may have drained through the bottom vents.
Never add lighter fluid to existing hot or warm coals.
3. Never use gasoline, or kerosene or other highly volatile fluids as a starter, they can explode.
4. Keep children and pets well away from the barbecue area.
5. Do not use barbecue within five feet of any combustible materials.
Combustible materials include, but are not limited to wood or treated wood decks, patios and porches.
6. Do not use barbecue unless all parts are in place.
7. Allow coals to burn out completely and let the ashes cool for at least 48 hours before disposing of them.
8. Do not wear loose clothing while lighting or using the barbecue.
9. Do not use barbecue in high winds.
10. Make sure that the barbecue is level and steady prior to use.
1 1. Do not cook before the charcoal has a coating of ash.
12. When preparing food, adjusting the vents, placing charcoal and using the thermometer or lid
always wear barbecue mitts.
13. WARNING: Do not move the appliance when in use. Allow it to cool completely before moving or storing.
Operating your barbecue
1. Remove the lid before building the fire. Make sure air vent at bottom is closed.
Note: For proper airflow, remove accumulated ashes from the bottom of the barbecue if present (only after the coals
are fully extinguished). Charcoal requires oxygen to burn, so be sure nothing clogs the vents.
2. When using charcoal briquettes or lumpwood charcoal form a pyramid and douse the briquettes/charcoal with
lighter fluid. Recommended maximum amount of charcoal briquets: 30 pieces. Max charcoal weight for Classic one:
2.2kg Wait until the fluid has soaked in before lighting. Lighter fluid should be capped immediately after use and
placed a safe distance from the grill. Use only briquettes complying to EN 1860-2
3. Ensure the charcoal pan is not over filled with charcoal or briquettes. Do not use if the charcoal pan is not in place.
Do not light if the charcoal or briquettes spill into the fire bowl.
