Description
The ACI42x Card Reader Series of products are Mifare
DESfire EV1/EV2 card readers for RS-485 connection
supporting OSDP V2.1.7 or traditional Wiegand interface (-W
variants). They are designed to be mounted on metal, window
or door frames, and are suitable for any location.
The ACI42x Card Reader Series include the following readers:

ACI420, ACI421: OSDP card readers
•
ACI420-W, ACI421-W: Wiegand card readers
•
ACI420-PIN, ACI421-PIN: OSDP card readers with
keypads
•
ACI420-PIN-W, ACI421-PIN-W: Wiegand card readers
with keypads
The ACI42x series readers support secure application of
Mifare Desfire EV1, EV2 and EV3 and by default Mifare User
ID (SCN), in addition the readers provide support for Mobile
connection over Bluetooth (by default Bluetooth is off).
ACI42x-W Wiegand readers can be connected to Wiegand
controllers.
ACI42x OSDP readers can be connected to OSDP controllers
supporting V2.1.7 using secure communication. ACI42x OSDP
reader addresses can be configured using ACI42x-A-n address
configuration cards. The configuration cards only set the
address to n. Alternatively the readers can be configured using
special configuration cards using the ATS coder suite.

By default, the readers are configured to use Mifare 7-byte
Unique ID numbers. OSDP readers are set to operate in OSDP
secure channel mode.

Earthing
The earth terminals on every piece of equipment in the system
that has a metal housing, must be earthed by connecting them
all to one common earth point via a separate earth wire run
with the data cable. The separate earth wire must have at least
