Connection of substations to bus lines
Principle: The stations are connected to each other by bus without an exchange.
Connection of the bus line
The bus connection between the stations requires a 3-pair twisted pair cable with screen. Establish the point-to-point
connection respecting the order of the signals. The stations are distributed on the bus.
Capacity of a bus line
The capacity of a bus line is from 1 to 30* stations. The maximum bus length is 1km. The stations can be distributed
over the entire length of the cable as long as the bus wiring is respected.
*Attention On the same bus line, 1 station transmits a general call to a maximum of 10 stations.
Bus line supply
If several substations are installed on the same bus, they are supplied by a local power supply (12VDC power supply).
The power supply of all the substations can be grouped in one point as long as the most distant substation receives the
minimum voltage in case all the substations consume.
If the stations are connected to independent power supplies (12VDC power supply), however, their respective grounds
must be connected (use the cable drain or an additional wire).
Simultaneous communication on a bus line
On a bus line, only one communication between 2 stations can take place at a time. While this bus line is busy, the
stations equipped with a display indicate " BUSY ". However, the other stations can transmit calls or remote controls.
Wiring
The recommended cable type is 6/10 or 9/10 twisted pair with screen (SYT1).
The length of the cable between the substation and the exchange must be less than 500m in 9/10 to allow the substation
to be supplied with power.
If several stations are installed on the same bus line, a local power supply must be provided for each station.
If the station is not remotely powered, the link with the exchange can be up to 1000m in 6/10.
