Body Side Molding Install Preparation
Apply the body side moldings in an environment free of dust and dirt.
Dust and dirt could come in contact with the adhesive surface and
prevent proper adhesion.
1. Clean the area where the replacement molding is to be mounted.
Use a suitable solvent such as flash naphtha or a mixture of 50
percent isopropyl alcohol and 50 percent water.
2. Dry the area thoroughly.
3. Warm the body panel to a temperature range of 16 – 41 degrees
Celsius (60 -105 degrees Fahrenheit) with a heat lamp or heat
gun.

4. Ensure the molding is at a minimum temperature of 16 degrees
Celsius (60 degree Fahrenheit). If the temperature of the molding
is below 16 degrees Celsius (60 degree Fahrenheit), warm up
molding with a heat lamp or heat gun.

1. Measure as shown in Figure 1.

2. Remove the protective tape from the molding.

3. Without allowing the adhesive surface to touch the door, ensure
the molding is aligned.

4. Using a roller, apply pressure to the molding to press the tape

onto the door. NOTE: CARE SHOULD BE TAKEN NOT TO

DAMAGE THE PAINT FINISH.

5. Repeat for opposite side.

Extended Cab
1. Measure as shown in Figure 1. The extended cab molding should
be 5.0 mm rearward from the front opening of the extended cab
door. For the "C" Pillar and Pickup Box Moldings use the mea-
surement in Figure 1.
2. Remove the protective tape from the molding.
3. Without allowing the adhesive surface to touch the door, ensure
the molding is aligned.
4. Using a roller, apply pressure to the molding to press the tape
onto the door. NOTE: CARE SHOULD BE TAKEN NOT TO
DAMAGE THE PAINT FINISH.
5. Repeat for opposite side.
