Tender specification :
Oventrop electronic motorised actuator "EIB" for the direct
connection to the European installation bus control system
(EIB). Power is supplied through the bus control system so
that a separate supply is not needed. The actuator automati-
cally adjusts to neutral point and disposes of two integrated
binary entries. The bus and the binary entries are connected
by means of a 6-core cable.
Item nos.:
115 60 66 "Uni EIB H" connection thread M 30 x 1.5
with two binary entries
115 60 76 "Uni EIB D" with adapter for radiators with integra-
ted distributors with squeeze connection and
M 23.5 x 1.5 with two binary entries

close connection
length 1 m (max. cable length of
binary entry 5 m)
Installation:
The installation must be carried out by a qualified trades
person who has detailed knowledge of the EIB bus control
system. The connection cable must not touch the warm
radiator or pipework as this will accelerate the ageing of the
cable.
The electronic motorised actuators Oventrop "EIB" may be
installed in any position but the installation in vertical
downward position should be avoided.
The electric connection is carried out via the bus clamp.
Connect the red wire to plus and the black wire to minus.
The binary entry 1 has to be connected by means of the
yellow and white lead and binary entry 2 by means of the
green and brown lead.
Function:
When used with Oventrop valves and the corresponding
temperature controllers, the Oventrop electronic motorised
actuators Oventrop "EIB" allow an exact individual room
temperature control. Dependant on the layout of the heating
circuit, it is possible to control a number of radiators (zones)
with one control valve only.
The allocation of the physical address as well as the
programming of the specified project data is made via the
ETS (EIB Tool Software). Programming of the physical
address is confirmed by pressing the programming button
with the LED display lighting up shortly.
After putting the system into operation, an automatic adjust-
ment run takes place. Here, the shut position of the valve,
which determines the piston stroke depending on the set
valve type is recognised. If the EIB does not receive a
new nominal value, the actuator is automatically set to the
1 byte
parametric value (correcting variable without regulator).
During the automatic adjustment, object 1 (actual value),
1 byte
object 3 (binary entry 1) and object 4 (binary entry 2) are set
to 0. The object values are only updated after adjustment.
1 bit
The automatic adjustment is carried out after the following
events:
– after putting the system into operation
1 bit
– after each reset of the bus tension
– after a given number of settings of the nominal value or
1 bit
once every 24 hours
– after a new programming
1 byte
– in case of a defect of the actuator
Optimised characteristic lines for use with different valves are
stored in the actuator. The choice of the corresponding valve
type and the characteristic line involved is made via the para-
meter settings in the ETS. The setting of the valve type has
to be carried out carefully as a trouble-free function is no lon-
ger given in case of improper application.
Binary entries:
The integrated binary entries can for example be connected
to a window contact or a dew point thimble. The signal of the
binary entry 1 can be read-out by means of the EIB and can
also be processed internally (compulsory setting) if required,
the signal of the binary entry 2 can be read-out by means of
the EIB, but it cannot be processed internally. Object 2
(compulsory setting) is preset at works to 30 . A frost pro-
tection is only guaranteed in combination with a room tem-
perature controller.
