In the factory the cable and conductor entries are
fitted with CEAG type GHG 960 923 P... cable
glands. The dimensions, the clamping ranges for
cables and wires and the torques are shown in
the tables in Annex A (page 22).
If other cable and conductor entries are in stalled,
the required torques and cable diameters will be
found in the appropriate manual.
Intrinsically safe circuits must enter and leave
the enclosure via separate cable entries that are
specially marked (for example with a light blue
color).
If any cable and conductor entries are not used
or are no longer needed, the tapped holes and
redundant gland bodies must be blanked off with
suitable blind plugs or caps.

Equipotential bonding and
PE conductor
From the standpoint of intrinsic safety Ex i, a dis-
tinction must be made between the equipotential
bonding conductors and the PE conductors in
the installation. The bonding conductor is regard-
ed as a passive conducting element that fulfills
the required separation conditions with a 500 V
insulation test. The PE conductor, however, is at
a certain potential in the event of a fault, and is
regarded as an active, non-intrinsically safe ele-
ment.

Shielded cables in intrinsically
safe circuits
If a cable shield is brought into a Zone 1 or
Zone 0 hazardous area during installation, it
must either be treated as an equipotential bond-
ing conductor or must meet the requirements of
a recognized type of explosion protection.

Servicing and Maintenance
The provisions of IEC 60079-17 'Inspection
and maintenance of electrical installations in
hazardous areas' relating to inspection, ser-
vicing and maintenance must be complied
with. In the course of inspections and main-
tenance work, those components on which
the type of explosion protection is dependent
must be inspected particularly carefully.

某一电位，是被认为是一个活跃的，非本安电气
元件。

本安电路的屏蔽电缆
在安装时，如果电缆屏蔽使用在危险场所1 区或
0 区，必须将其视为等电位连接导体或必须符合
公认的防爆类型。

维修和维护
必须遵守IEC 60079-17 规定"在危险区域电气装
置的维护和保养"的保养和维护规定。在检查和
维护过程中，不同防爆类型的这些元件必须特别
仔细地检查。
