7. Operation

1. Power
Make sure that your device is provided with the correct voltage. Wrong voltage could lead
to irreparable damages. Please find the correct voltage data in the synoptical table at the
end of this manual. It must be ensured that the device is not directed to people or inflam-
mable objects during installation.
2. Turn on
a) Connect the RJ45 Interlock cable of the projector (as marked on the cable) to the RJ45 to
Sub-D adapter (included in delivery) and then to the Safety Unit (included in delivery).
Make sure that the key switch of the Safety Unit is set to „OFF".
b) Connect the power cable of the projector to a suitable power supply.
c) Turn the Safety Unit key switch to „ON".
3. Interlock
Laser output is only possible if the RJ45 Interlock cable is connected to the safety unit
(included in delivery).
4. Key switch
Laser output is only possible if the key (included in delivery) is connected to the key switch
and turned „ON".
5. Pangolin Quickshow FB4 over Ethernet
The show laser is controlled by a built-in FB4 interface via LAN (network cable). Connect
the RJ45 software cable of the projector (as marked on the cable) to the LAN port of a PC
or an existing network.
The FB4 interface of the show laser system contains the license for the Pangolin Quick-
show software. To use the software, download it from the Pangolin website and install
it on a computer. After starting the software, the FB4 interface is automatically detected
and displayed in the status bar.
Then you can program the PL-5500RGB Outdoor to project a laser show in stand-alone
mode or alternatively control the device live.
6. Turn off
To turn off the device, turn the key switch of the safety unit to „OFF" and disconnect the
laser from the power supply.
Important Note:
Operate scanners/galvos only at appropriate speed according to the res-
pective scan angle. Too high scan speed can damage the scanning system.
