Warning notes
Risk of electric shock!
While the housing of the battery set is open, the mains connection
cable connected to the power supply unit UPS 60 must be dis-
connected from the mains supply.
If this is not oberserved, touching live parts can result in death or
serious injury.
Lead-acid AGM batteries contain hazardous, poisonous substances.
When handling the batteries, and during transport and disposal,
local regulations must be adhered to.
WARNING!
Batteries are subject to the risk of an excessively high short-circuit
cur-rent. To prevent this, do not connect anything between the bat-
tery con-tacts and other conductive parts.
6.3
Replacing batteries
The batteries must only be replaced with the original battery set (two pieces of
type BAT 12-24, order no. 00 0648 87). Other batteries may result in problems
because of their connections and dimensions.
1.
Disconnect the power supply unit UPS 60 from the power.
2.
Remove the six fastening screws from the housing cover and remover the co-
ver by pulling it towards you. Do not disconnect the existing earth connection
between housing cover and housing.
3.
Remove the battery fuse (7) from the fuse holder located between the two bat-
teries und and place it in a safe place, refer to Fig. 2.
4.
Document the installation direction and connection polarity of the used batte-
ries, refer to Fig. 2.
5.
Remove the used batteries.
6.
Insert the new batteries, using the same installation direction as the ones that
have been removed. Ensure that the connection polarity is correct. Reversing
the polarity of the batteries may result in the connected power supply unit
being destroyed!
7.
Replace the rubber grommets correctly on the connecting screws.
8.
Secure the hook and loop strap again to hold the batteries in place.
9.
Insert the battery fuse (7) into the fuse holder located between the two batte-
ries, refer to Fig. 2.
10.
Replace the housing cover and screw in the six fastening screws tightly..
11.
It necessary to perform a functional test of the power supply unit UPS!

Remove any watches, bracelets, rings and other metal objects
before starting work on the open battery set.
Only use tools with handles that have standard insulation.
