Install the Lavatory (cont.)
For tile, wood, or other porous materials, apply waterproof sealer
around the cutout area of the countertop surface. Follow all
manufacturer's instructions and warnings. Allow the sealer to dry
before proceeding.
Use a 50/50 mixture of isopropyl alcohol and water to clean the
countertop surface around the cutout area. Wipe dry with a clean
cloth.
NOTE: Install the adhesive seal when the temperature is at least 50°
F (10° C). The preferred temperature range to apply the adhesive
seal is 70° (21° C) to 100° F (38° C).
Self-Rimming Installation
Loosely apply the adhesive seal (included) around the entire
countertop cutout so it is about 3/16" (5mm) from the cutout.
Adjust the placement of the seal before removing the backing
material. Cut off any excess seal material. Carefully remove the
adhesive seal backing material.
Above-Counter Installation
Loosely apply the adhesive seal (included) around the entire
countertop cutout so it is alongside the cutout hole. Adjust the
placement of the seal before removing the backing material. Cut
off any excess seal material. Carefully remove the adhesive seal
backing material.
All Installations
Note the location of the "Kohler" logo. The lavatory should be
installed so the logo is visible after installation.
Carefully position the lavatory in the cutout, and press down
firmly.
Connect and tighten the trap to the drain, and complete the water
supply connections to the faucet according to the instructions
packed with the faucet.
Run water into the lavatory and check for leaks.
Clean up with a non-abrasive cleaner.
