w CAUTION Burn Hazard. Care should be used while cleaning;
steam can burn.
To clean buildup on soleplate, preheat the iron to the highest
temperature setting and iron over a damp, 100% cotton cloth. This
creates heavy steam that transfers grime from the soleplate to the
cloth. Do not use abrasive cleansers or metal scouring pads.
Water:
Use ordinary tap water. If using extremely hard water, alternate
between tap water and distilled water to prevent scale buildup.
Soleplate Care:
Never iron over zippers, pins, metal rivets, or snaps, since these may
scratch the soleplate.
Manual Soleplate Cleaning:
1. Fill iron with water and plug into outlet.
2. Turn temperature settings dial to a medium setting. Let heat for
3 minutes.
3. While holding iron over a sink, press and hold steam blast button
for 1 minute.
4. Unplug.
To clean buildup on soleplate: Make sure iron is completely cooled.
Wipe with a soft sudsy cloth, and then wipe with a soft, clean damp
cloth. Do not use abrasive cleansers or metal scouring pads.

How to Store:
1. Unplug base and allow unit to cool
completely.
2. The steam hose can be stored in the
steam hose storage channel around
the base of the tank. Use the Velcro
strap to wrap and store the power
cord.
3. Store upright on a flat, stable surface,
out of reach of children, with the iron
set on the base.
How to Descale (recommended monthly):
1. Cleaning is recommended near a sink
since water may flow from tank or
boiler.
2. Unplug iron and allow to cool
overnight.
3. Unscrew boiler cleaning valve by
turning counterclockwise, and remove.
The valve will contain scale buildup.
4. Run valve under running water to clean.
5. Insert provided boiler cleaning brush into boiler and sweep back
and forth in an arcing motion to loosen scale buildup. Tilt base
over sink to flush loosened scale with water.
6. Screw the valve back into the base by turning clockwise until
tight.
