• Manual Switching
o SELECT: Press this button to cycle through the different inputs:
o LOCK: Press this button to lock the selected input so as to prevent accidental interruption during recording.
o TV2: Press this button to select the video output.
• LOCK Function
o Enabling the Function
Select the desired input. The corresponding LED will turn green.
Press the LOCK button once. All LEDs will turn orange.
You may now select another input. The LED of the locked input will turn red.
o Disabling the Function
Select the locked input. All LEDs will turn orange.
Press the LOCK button to release the function. All LEDs will turn green.
• How to Record
o Select the AV or RGB channel on your VCR.
o Select the correct input on the VAS5R.
o Press the LOCK button to lock the selected input.
o Press the RECORD key on your VCR and the PLAY button on the video source equipment. Recording will start. You
can now select another input, recording will not be interrupted. To watch the video being recorded, make sure to
select the AV channel on your TV set (if the TV set is connected to the TV2 input, make sure the TV2 button is
released).
• Making Two Recordings at the same Time
o Connect the two VCRs respectively to the VCR and the DVD SCART connections.
o Connect the two video sources to either the SAT, the DTT or the AUX input.
o Select one of the inputs and press the LOCK button. Select the second input. Press the TV2 button.
o Select the AV channel, press the RECORD button on both VCRs and press the PLAY button on the video source.
Simultaneous recording will now start.
• Recording Between Two VCRs
o Connect the two VCRs respectively to the VCR and the DVD SCART connections.
o Select the source input and press the LOCK button. Make sure the TV2 button is released.
o Select the AV channel and press the RECORD button on the second VCR.
o Press the PLAY button on the source VCR. Recording will start.
• Stereo Hi-fi Sound
o Connect a hi-fi system to the HI-FI input of the VAS5R. You will now get stereo sound from any input.
