CHOOSING THE SLACKLINE COURSE
Choose a clear area for the slackline with a sturdy anchor point, a healthy tree (1m circumference or 30cm
diameter) is recommended or pole or post that can handle at least 11,5KN (1150 KG) on both ends. If you are
unsure about the health of your selected tress, consult with an arborist. If a tree is used as an attachment point,
it must be protected from damage accordingly (e.g. Tree Huggerz SLA.814 - available separately).
ATTENTION: The SLACKLINE should be installed on an even, soft ground (like grass or sand), clear of ALL
obstacles: bushes, rocks, or anything else that could cause injury. Never install the SLACKLINE above any hard
surface or above water (e.g. pools, rivers, sea, etc.)
BEFORE YOU BEGIN - FIRST TIME USER'S "THREE WORDS":
SHORT- Use a short (and thus a more stable) distance between posts/trees.
LOW- General rule: Set Slackline just above the height of the knee (standing on the ground) of the shortest person
using the line. This way it's easy to step onto the line and begin. The slackline must not be installed higher than
50cm from the ground. Usable height is the width between the unloaded slackline and the impact surface.
TIGHT- The higher the tension of the slackline is, the more stable is the slackline. The tension can be adjusted
afterwards at any time.
SLACKLINE SET UP- MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE SLACKERS LOGOS ON THE LINE FACING UP
Step 1: thread the ratchet cover onto the belt loop with the ratchet.
Step 2: Place the belt loop with the ratchet around a tree (Figure 1), pull the complete slackline through the loop
and then tighten the belt firmly (Figure 2).
Step 3: Place the slackline around a tree and pull it flat and not twisted (Figure 3).
Figure 1
Step 4: Guide the other end of the strap (loose end) of the slackline
through the slot on the ratchet and pull out the slack. Make sure
that the slackline is not twisted. Pull tight by hand before using the
ratchet. The ratchet must point downwards (see photo).
The tension is enough if you cannot tighten the ratchet more firmly
with a force of approx. 400 N.
ATTENTION: The ratchet must lie under the slackline and be covered with
the protective cover in order to secure catching, crushing or shearing
points.
ATTENTION: The ratchet should be hidden underneath the line and be
covered with the ratchet protector.
