Trouble Shooting
POSSIBLE CAUSES
1. Pump impeller maybe air locked
2. Vent hole clogged
3. Clogged inlet
4. Discharge gate valve may be closed
5. Discharge check valve may be clogged
or have a broken clapper
6. Discharge head may be too high
1. Impeller may be clogged
with foreign objects
1. Excessive load possibly caused by a
short in the motor
2. If this condition happens after an
electrical storm, motor or control box
may be damaged by lightning

CORRECTIVE ACTION
1. Purge air
2. Clean out the vent hole
3. Clean out the inlet
4. Open gate valve
5. Remove and examine check
valve for proper installation and
freedom of operation
6. Check elevation
1. Check impeller for
freedom of operation, security
and condition. Clean impeller
cavity and inlet of any
obstruction
1. Contact qualified technician
2. Reset breaker.
If breaker trips again in a few
seconds check motor for
lightning damage
