    (see “Maintenance” section for details). o This system is intended for use with cold water only. DO NOT INSTALL ON HOT WATER. o Only use Rainfresh TWIST filter cartridges with this unit. No other filter cartridge will fit or function with this system.

    (such as basement or crawl space) from where tubing can be run to the faucet. The unit should not be installed more than fifteen feet away from the faucet. Call Rainfresh if you have questions.

  • Page 4: Mounting The Unit

    Step 2: Install battery (For model QS1 only) Before mounting the unit, install the monitor battery. Remove head cover insert (2713) by gently pulling away the insert from the head. Unwrap coin battery (2545) and insert into battery slot between contacts with + side out. Now re-attach the head cover 2713 insert (2713), carefully aligning it so that the black button on the monitor lines up through the hole on the cover insert.

    Step 5: Installing the supply valve The self-piercing supply valve (1008-1) can be installed on copper or CPVC rigid plastic pipe of 3/8" to 1" diameter. NOTE: If your piping is PEX or any other softer material, DO NOT USE this supply valve as it can cause a water leak. For PEX, you can purchase appropriate fittings at the same store where you purchased this unit or you can order the supply valve kit (model CK514) online directly from www.rainfreshstore.com IMPORTANT: Before you install supply valve, confirm the cold water pipe by running...

    6 month life is up. If your water has excessive sediment, we recommend installing a Rainfresh whole house water filter available from the same retailer where you purchased this unit. Call Rainfresh for assistance in locating a retailer and product selection.
