BEFORE USING THE FIRST TIME
Carefully unpack your rice cooker, discard all packaging, and clean
it according to the instructions outlined in the "CLEANING AND
CARE" section of the manual. Dry all parts thoroughly afterwards.
OPERATION
Cooking rice:
1. Using the measuring cup provided, measure out the desired
amount of rice. One full, level measuring cup of uncooked rice
will yield 2 measuring cups of cooked rice.
2. Rinse the uncooked rice in a separate container until the water
drains relatively clear.
Note: For softer rice, allow the rice to soak for 10-20 minutes prior to
cooking.
3. Place the rinsed rice in the inner pot.
4. Using the measuring cup provided or the water measurement
lines located inside the inner pot, add the appropriate amount of
water. See the "Rice/Water Measurement Table" below for
suggested rice/water ratios.
5. Making sure that the exterior of the inner pot is clean and dry;
place the inner pot into the rice cooker. Position the lid securely
onto the rice cooker and plug the power cord into a wall outlet.
6. To begin cooking, press the "On/Off" button, then press the
"White Rice" or "Brown Rice" button, depending upon the type
of rice being cooked. The cooking mode indicator lights will
illuminate. Once cooking is complete, the rice cooker will beep 3
times, and then automatically switch to "Keep Warm" mode.
Note: If you wish to cancel your cooking selection, press the
"ON/OFF" button and reset by pressing the appropriate cooking
button.
7. After cooking, remove the lid and use the rice paddle to stir the
rice. This will release the excess moisture and give the rice a
fluffier texture. Then, replace the lid and allow the unit to remain
on "Keep Warm" mode for 5-10 minutes. This will ensure optimal
rice texture and moisture level.
