9.1

Shut-off valve, cold water inlet

For maintenance work on the following installation, you can shut
off the cold water inlet on the safety assembly.
Note
Note that the shut-off valve closes anti-clockwise.
The shut-off valve is unsuitable for setting the flow rate.

Checking the safety valve
f For safety reasons, check the safety valve twice a year. f
f Remove hot water until the heater of the DHW cylinder f
switches on.
f Turn the bleed cap 2 to 3 times anti-clockwise. f
During the heat-up process, expansion water will drip from the

safety valve into the tundish.
f Check the function of the non-return valve if no water drips f
during heat-up.

No water must drip out after heat-up has been completed.
f Should water nevertheless drip after heat-up, clean the safe- f
ty valve and check the water inlet pressure.
f KV 30 | KV 307: If necessary, install a pressure reducing valve. f
KV 40: Check the function of the pressure reducing valve. If
necessary, clean or replace the pressure reducing valve.
Removing / cleaning the safety valve

f Isolate the DHW cylinder from the power supply. f
f Rotate the shut-off valve 90° anti-clockwise to close the cold f
water inlet.
f Open the tap to drain the DHW cylinder. f
f Remove the safety valve with drip facility by removing the f
locking clip.
f Clean the seat and gasket of the safety valve. f
f Reinstall the safety valve with the locking clip. f
f Check the safety valve. f

Checking the non-return valve
f Check the non-return valve annually. f
f Remove hot water until the heater of the DHW cylinder f
switches on.
f Rotate the shut-off valve 90° anti-clockwise to close the cold f
water inlet.
f Remove the pressure gauge screw. f
No water must be expelled.
f If water drips, clean or replace the non-return valve. f
f If cold water drips, open the shut-off valve clockwise in order f
to flush out any dirt. Then close the shut-off valve anti-clock-
wise. If water continues to drip, check the gasket and seat in
the valve block. Replace the valve block if required.

f Replace the valve block if the shut-off valve proves to be f
faulty.

The safety valve cannot be repaired.
f In the case of faulty operation, replace the complete f
safety valve.
