2.2 HOW VOSS.SONIC 2800 WORKS
As soon as the motion sensor is activated, the device starts to emit a series of ultrasonic sounds based on the respective
setting of the „Frequency" dial. The animals will not stay in the area where they can hear the sounds, since they are very
unpleasant to them. The sound will only be triggered if an animal enters the operational area. This prevents the animals from
becoming accustomed to the noise, which further increases the repellent effect.
Ultrasound spreads out in waves and penetrates light building materials. The ultrasonic signal is attenuated behind objects in
the area of action. It may be necessary to install several devices to ensure complete deterrence.

3. ASSEMBLY AND FIRST TIME OPERATION

The VOSS.sonic 2800 is powered by 4x 1.5 V Mono D batteries or a 230 V mains adapter which is delivered with Art: 45343.UK.
Important tip
When operating with a mains adapter, you can have it switch on/off via a timer or remote control socket, for example. The
device automatically restarts in the set mode.
The VOSS.sonic 2800 is splash-proof and can be used both indoors and outdoors. In dry places protected from water, you can
simply place the repeller on the floor. For outdoor use (e.g. in the garden), we recommend using the mounting post. Hanging
holes on the back of the device are for wall mounting. This way VOSS.sonic 2800 can be used wherever you need it.
For best effect, place this device facing the direction from which the animals come.
Outdoors, the unit should be placed approx. 15 cm above the ground. This enables an ideal detection range and good
ultrasonic transmission. Make sure that the placement does not cause a tripping hazard for other people.
Battery operation
Remove the back panel and insert the batteries according to the polarity markings. Then close the cover carefully again.
The service life of the batteries depends on many factors: number of activations, ambient temperature.
Important notice
When using the mains adapter, the batteries in the device are not in use. Charging or parallel operation is therefore not
possible.
Important notice
Insufficiently charged batteries cannot trigger the flash. This is the case when the voltage (system power of the 4 batteries) is
below 3.6 V. If the voltage drops below 3.4 V, the ultrasonic sounds are no longer emitted with sufficient precision.
The batteries are too weak and must be replaced.
Mains adapter (230 V) operation (not included with Art: 45341)
The mains adapter included in the scope of delivery is robust. If you operate the unit with the mains adapter, open the mois-
ture seal on the side of the adapter socket and push the adapter pin in completely.
Operation
When the device is switched on, a red LED in the upper half of the viewing window lights up for approx. 5 seconds. After a
further 25 seconds the unit is completely ready for operation. Now the motion detector can be triggered. After an audible click
sound, the device emits ultrasonic sounds for approx. 9 seconds. The signal light behind the motion detector is lit red. The
VOSS.sonic 2800 starts to operate as soon as the motion detector is triggered. The device is now ready for operation.
