A) Fall arrest system with a fall arrest device on a slider carriage (according to EN353-2) with a shock absorber (according to EN355) as a
lanyard (maximum length of lanyard: 0.5 m)
B) Fall arrest system with retractable type fall arrester (according to EN360). Here, a shock absorber is not necessary because said retractable
type fall arresters are equipped with an integrated shock absorption. No additional attenuation needs to be installed. The manufacturer's
instructions must be observed.
C) Fall protection system including a fixed guide (according to EN353). A shock absorption is integrated.
No additional attenuation needs to be installed. The manufacturer's instructions must be observed.

Work positioning systems are intended to
keep the user away from areas with the risk
of falling or to provide a working position,
in which leaning into the work positioning
systems prevents a free fall.
The length of restraint systems must be
chosen in a way that an eventual risk zone
for a fall from a height cannot be reached.
For work positioning a lanyard must be
adjusted in a way that the maximum height
of a fall of 0.5m is not reached. Furthermore
a redundant securing (fall arrester system
according to EN363) must be used, in
order to be secured while accessing the
work place and when being positioned
at the working place as well as during an
eventual length adjustment of the lanyard
at the working place.
The anchor point of the lanyard must be at or
above waist level and free movement must
be limited to a minimum.
