Manual
b) Mirrored set (Creating a RAID 1)
Auto configuration
The array is created automatically comprising the following parameters:
- source drive: drive 0
- target drive: drive 1
- Are you sure? (Y/N). Confirmation of complete selection.
With this selection, no synchronisation of hard disks takes place!
Manual configuration
Here, the parameters of the array can be set as follows:
- selection of source drive
- selection of target drive
- Is the copy to be made from the source to the target drive?
- Are you sure? (Y/N). Confirmation of complete selection.
2. Delete RAID set
After deleting a RAID array each drive can be addressed again as a single
device. Please note that data on the drives is lost with a RAID 0 array. With
a RAID 1, no data is lost.
8. Installation of Drivers
8.1. Microsoft Windows 98 / ME
1. Installing in an Existing Windows 98 / ME System
Once the RAID controller is properly installed and you turn on the
computer, Windows 95 / 98 / ME will find a new device while booting up, a
so–called "PCI RAID Controller". You will be asked to install a new driver.
- Insert floppy disk into disk drive and select drive "A:\".
- Click on "Finish" to complete driver installation.
- When asked to reboot your computer, click on "Yes".
- After rebooting driver installation is finished and all drives connected to
the RAID controller are available for use.
- Now you can partition and format the disk array; please follow the
instructions of the manufacturer of the operating system.
You can verify the installation by opening the device manager under "SCSI
Controller", where the entry "Silicon Image Sil 3112 SATARaid Controller"
should be found. If this is not the case, go to the "RAID Troubleshooting"
section of this manual.
