Test button
We recommend testing the operation of your SSDA once a week.
Brie y press the Test button (less than 2 seconds).
The Test button ashes red and emits an audible signal. Use this
test to familiarise children with the audible signal, and tell them
what to do if a re breaks out in your home (see the section on
'What to do in case of re'). Also remember to carry out this test
after a long absence.

Once or twice a year, you can test the operation of the SSDA
using a test spray.

A: Dust the ns using a vacuum cleaner or antistatic cloth.
B: Clean the entire detector using a slightly damp cloth or sponge.
The detector must be kept in a clean environment (without any
build-up of dust, cobwebs, etc.) so that smoke can enter the
detector. The detector must not be painted.
What to do in case of re
When a re is detected, remain calm. Evacuate the premises as
quickly as possible. If that is not possible, take shelter in a
smoke-free location and lie on the oor so that you can breathe.
