Share your Broadband Connection
WebShare 242 WN supports 4 x 10/100 Mbps auto-negotiating Fast Ethernet ports
for connection to your PC or LAN and downstream (with built-in ADSL2+ modem)
rate up to 24Mbps. Power by NAT technology, dozens of network users can surf on
the Internet and share the ADSL connection simultaneously by using one ISP
account and one single IP address.
Wireless N 150Mbps
Thanks to its embedded Access Point, based on the most recently 802.11n (up to
150Mbps) specifications, is possible to create high performance WLANs with
extended coverage. The Wireless Router also supports WPA/WPA2 security, it
increases the level of data protection and access control for Wireless LAN. Reverse-
SMA 5 dBi Antenna provides extended coverage. The WDS (up to 4 AP) feature
makes the WebShare 242 WN an ideal solution for quickly creating and extending a
wireless local area network (WLAN) in offices or other workplaces
Firewall & Quality of Service (QoS)
This product also serves as an Internet firewall, protecting your network from being
accessed by outside users. Not only provide the natural firewall function (Network
Address Translation, NAT), it also provides rich firewall features to secure user‟s
network. QoS gives you full control over which types of outgoing data traffic should
be given priority by the router, ensuring important data like gaming packets move
through the router at lightning speed, even under heavy load.
BitTorrent™, Print Server USB & 3G USB Modem
WebShare 242 WN integrates a BitTorrent™ client so that you can now download
any file (and save into connected USB storage device) you want without the need to
use your computer. Alternatively, thanks to the USB port, you can now connect your
normal USB printer and turn it into a fully functional networked shared printer.
Finally with the WebShare 242 WN you can connect a 3G / HSDPA USB modem to
its built-in USB port, enabling you to use a 3G / HSDPA, UMTS, EDGE, GPRS, or
GSM Internet connection, which makes downstream rates of up to 14.4 Mbps. The
auto fail-over feature ensures maximum connectivity and minimum interruption by
quickly and smoothly connecting to a 3G network in the event that your ADSL line
fails.
