PRODUCT INFORMATION - OPUS 86

Thank you for selecting the Opus 86 condenser micro-
phone. Please take some time to read through this
product information before using the microphone.

Applications

The Opus 86 has been developed for miking
accordions and Styrian harmonicas. This cardioid
condenser microphone features a true, detailed
reproduction and high-gain-before feedback. The
microphone is insensitive to handling noise and
vibration from the instrument due to a special shock
mount.
• For optimum miking we recommend to use two
microphones, one for the bass and one for the
treble range. The gooseneck lets you align the
microphone exactly as desired.
• Alternatively, you can use one Opus 86 and a
stand-mounted microphone for miking an
accordion. Mount the Opus 86 on the bass side of
the accordion and point the microphone to one
of the sound holes. Align the stand-mounted
microphone with the treble side of the accordion.

How to mount the Microphone

The Opus 86 is supplied with a mounting plate and
double-sided adhesive pads to mount the microphone
to the instrument.
• You can easily slide the microphone onto the
mounting plate and remove it when transporting
the instrument.
• Before permanently mounting the microphone
on your instrument, experiment with various
microphone positions for the best possible sound.

How to connect the Microphone

The Opus 86 provides a 4-pin mini XLR female
connector.
• If you use one Opus 86 you can connect it to an
appropriate beltpack transmitter such as TS 100 Mk II,
