4. Insert the special socket (5) through the large cut-out (40 mm) from the outside to the inside. Mount the cover
panel (8) as follows:
When mounting on a metal air screen: Screw the two screws supplied with the kit through the predrilled holes
in the air screen into the thread of the cover panel from the inside and tighten them.
When mounting on a wooden panel: Screw two self-cutting wood screws of a fitting size through the two small
holes of the cover panel from the outside.
5. Screw a metal halide light e.g.
(5), making sure that the metal halide spotlight and the JBL TempSet Unit L-U-W kit have the same wattage.
6. Now, you can connect the mains lead (2) to the power supply and use the switch (4) to turn on the light as
needed. A standard automatic timer can be used instead. In this case, the timer should always be set to "on".
Please note that it takes a while for a metal halide light (HID) to attain its full brightness after it is switched on. The metal
halide light may flicker slightly when starting. After the power supply is cut and then restored, the metal halide light will
only turn on again after a brief cooling-off period.
Important information:
Mounting deviating from the procedure described in the above and requiring disconnection of electrical connections may
only be carried out by a trained specialist! Improper electrical connections may cause injury from electrical shock and
pose a fire hazard! It is not permitted to add quick disconnections to the special ignition cable (6)!
Safety precautions:
Make sure that the operating voltage indicated on the name-plate agrees with the mains voltage.

Always disconnect the power plug and allow the socket to cool off first before changing bulbs. Screw in the

new bulb and then reconnect the power plug.
When screwing the bulb in and out, always make sure to hold the socket with one hand in order to prevent the

cable from twisting.
Do not operate a TempSet Unit L-U-W kit with a damaged mains lead (2) or a damaged special ignition cable
•
(6).
