General Grill Operation and Cooking Procedures

Never leave children unsupervised around the NewAge grill.
Pre-heating for more than 15 minutes may overheat and cause damage to the grill.
Never cover slots, holes, or passages in the grill fire box or cover an entire rack with material
such as aluminum foil. Doing so blocks air flow through the oven and may cause carbon
monoxide poisoning. Aluminum foil linings may trap heat causing a fire hazard.
Do not leave the grill unattended.
Preheating
It is necessary to preheat the grill for a short time before cooking certain foods, depending on
the type of food and the cooking temperature. Pre-heating allows the briquettes to properly heat
up, providing more even and more consistent cooking results. Allow the grill to pre-heat on "HI"
until desired temperature is reached. Use the hood thermometer to achieve required preheating
temperature. There is no need to preheat for casseroles or other foods that require slow cooking.
Cooking Temperatures
HIGH Setting - Use this setting only for fast warm-up, for searing steaks and chops, and for burning
food residue from the cooking grids after the cookout is over.
MEDIUM Setting - Use this setting for most grilling, roasting or baking, and for cooking
hamburgers and vegetables.
LOW Setting - Use this setting for all smoke cooking, rotisserie cooking, and when cooking very
lean cuts such as fish.
These temperatures vary with the outside temperature and the amount of wind.
Do not use the grill for cooking excessively fatty meats or products, which promote flare-ups. To Control
flare-ups, adjust the controls to lower the temperature. If your grill flare-up is out-of-control, turn off the
burners. Don't use water to put out flare-ups. Spraying water on a flare-up can cause grease to explode.
