This can happen when the batteries are dead. Replace the batteries.
This can happen when the batteries are not inserted correctly. Insert the batteries so
the positive (+) and the negative (-) terminals align correctly.
Tap the footplate to turn on the device. Once 0.0 appears on the LCD screen
step on the footplate and measure weight.
Make sure to remove any foreign object that might be touching the device.

The weight can be inaccurate if you use the device on carpet or a mattress. Place
