Safety Instructions

Read the operating instructions carefully and especially observe the safety
information. If you do not follow the safety instructions and information on
proper handling in this manual, we assume no liability for any resulting per-
sonal injury or damage to property. Such cases will invalidate the warranty/
guarantee.
a) General
• The unauthorised conversion and/or modification of the product is not permitted
for safety and approval reasons . Do not disassemble the product.
• Any maintenance or repair work may be performed only by an expert.
• The product is not a toy and does not belong in the hands of children.
• Do not operate the device in environments where there are high levels of dust,
flammable gases, vapours or solvents. There is a danger of fire and explosion!
• Do not use this product in hospitals or medical institutions. Although the product
only emits relatively weak radio signals, these may lead to the malfunction of life-
support systems. The same may also apply to other areas.
• Do not leave packaging material carelessly lying around, since it could become a
dangerous plaything for children.
• In commercial institutions, the accident prevention regulations of the Employer's
Liability Insurance Association for Electrical Systems and Operating Facilities are
to be observed!
• If you have any questions that are not answered in these operating instructions,
please contact our technical department or another specialist.
b) Wireless chime
• The design of the wireless chime complies with Safety Class II. Use only a stand-
ard mains socket as the power source for the wireless chime.
Before connecting to the mains, check whether the connection values on the type
plate of the wireless chime match those of your home power supply.
• The mains socket into which the wireless chime is plugged must be easily ac-
cessible.
• Never use the wireless chime in the direct vicinity of a bathroom, shower, bathtub
or similar. There is a risk of a life-threatening electric shock!
• The wireless chime is intended for use in dry, enclosed interiors only; it must not
get damp or wet. Failure to observe this poses a danger to life from electric shock!
• Never touch, operate, plug in or unplug the wireless chime with damp or wet
hands. There is a risk of a life-threatening electric shock!
• The wireless chime must not be exposed to extreme temperatures, direct sun-
light or strong vibrations. Never operate the wireless chime directly next to a heat
source.
• If the wireless chime is damaged, do not touch it; there is a danger to life from
electric shock!
First, switch off the mains voltage to the socket to which the wireless chime is
connected (switch off at the corresponding circuit breaker or remove the safety
fuse or switch off at the corresponding RCD protective switch, so that the socket
is fully disconnected).
Only then should you disconnect the wireless chime from the mains socket; do
no use it any longer.
• Devices that operate on the mains voltage must be kept out of the reach of chil-
dren. Therefore, be especially careful when children are around. Install the wire-
less chime out of the reach of children.
• Never use the wireless chime immediately after it has been taken from a cold room
into a warm one. The condensation produced may destroy the wireless chime.
Furthermore, this could cause a lethal electric shock!
Allow the wireless chime to reach room temperature before connecting it to the
power supply and putting it to use. This may take several hours.
• Never pour any liquids above or next to the wireless chime. You run the risk of
causing a fire or a fatal electric shock.
If any liquid has still happened to enter the device, immediately turn off the power
supply to the mains socket to which the wireless chime is connected (turn off
the fuse/circuit breaker/residual current operated circuit breaker of the associated
circuits).
Only then can you unplug the wireless chime from the mains socket and contact a
specialist. Do not use the wireless chime any longer.
c) Wireless doorbell button
• The outdoor sensor is suitable for use in sheltered outdoor areas (e.g., under a
roof overhand). It must not be used in or under water, this will destroy it.
Installing the wireless doorbell button
The wireless doorbell button can be glued to a clean, dry, flat, dust-free surface using the
double-sided glue pad on the back. In so doing, you must mount the wireless doorbell button
such that the transparent cover for the name plate points downward and the button upward.
We recommend carrying out a function test in conjunction with the wireless chime
before gluing the button in place to see whether an error-free wireless reception is
possible.
There is a transparent cover on the front. This can be easily removed so that you can insert a
name plate (dimensions for the name plate: 37.5 x 28.5 mm).
Getting started with the wireless chime
Connect the wireless chime to a standard mains socket (wall socket).
The wireless chime is now ready for use. The manufacturer has already registered the wireless
doorbell button with the wireless chime, so that the wireless chime reacts when the wireless
doorbell button is pushed.
However, you can also register the doorbell button yourself; see the section "Regis-
tering the wireless doorbell button with the wireless chime".
Operation
a) Choosing the ring tone on the wireless chime
To switch to the next ring tone, briefly press the " " button on the wireless chime. For checking
the ring tone, the melody is played once.
In all, there are 25 different ring tones available.
b) Choosing the sound volume
Briefly pressing the "
" button on the wireless chime allows you to adjust the volume during
ring tone playback in 3 steps.
