Symptoms
• Sound and picture are
sometimes interrupted or
distorted.
• Disc cannot be played
back.
• Noise is generated.
• A longer readout time is
required.
• Tracks cannot be played
back as you have intended
them to play.
• Elapsed playing time is not
correct.

Causes
You are driving on rough
roads.
Disc is scratched.
Connections are incorrect.
No MP3/WMA/JPEG tracks
are recorded on the disc.
MP3/WMA/JPEG tracks do
not have the extension code
<.mp3>, <.wma>, or <.jpg>
in their file names.
MP3/WMA/JPEG tracks are
not recorded in a compliant
format.
MP3/WMA/JPEG tracks
are recorded in DVD+R/
DVD+RW media.
The track played back is not
an MP3/WMA file (although
it has the extension code
<.mp3> or <.wma>).
Readout time varies due to
the complexity of the folder/
file configuration.
Playback order is determined
when the files are recorded.
This sometimes occurs
during play. This is caused
by how the tracks are
recorded on the disc.
Remedies
Stop playback while driving
on rough roads.
Change the disc.
Check the cords and
connections.
Change the disc.
Add the extension code
<.mp3>, <.wma>, or <.jpg>
to their file names.
Change the disc.
Record MP3/WMA/JPEG
tracks using a compliant
application (see page 17).
Change the disc.
Record MP3/WMA/JPEG
tracks using DVD-R/DVD-
RW media.
Skip to another track or
change the disc. (Do not add
the extension code <.mp3>
or <.wma> to non-MP3 or
WMA tracks.)
Do not use too many
hierarchies and folders.
