pressed and hold for 30 seconds. Then the lock beside the channel name will dis-
appear.
2. To create an own program a similar program has to be selected under call/mem.
The individual values for mode, width, rate, rise time, time on and rest time can be
increased with the + button of the group buttons control or decreased with the – but-
ton.
3. To store the new created program the + button of the group buttons control under
call/mem has to be pressed and hold for 2 seconds.
4. After creating new programs the channel A and B of the unit should be locked.
Therefore the + button of the group buttons control under call/mem has to be
pressed and hold for approx. 30 seconds.
Important Notice:
Only the programs 29, 30, 31 and 32 are available for creating own programs. If
more programs are created, existing programs will be overwritten from pro-
gram 1. This has to be avoided! In case of overwriting specific programs the pa-
rameters of the before existing programs have to be inserted and stored manually.

3.3.2 Operation of the therapy memory

With the therapy memory the cumulative duration of the therapy can be called up and the
memory can be reset to 0 again. If the therapy memory shows for example 06 23, the
total treatment duration is 6230 minutes or 103 hours and 50 minutes.
1. To call up the cumulative therapy duration the ↑ or ↓ arrow of the group buttons con-
trol has to be pressed so often until the digits on the left side of the call/mem func-
tion (program memory) start to flash. Then the two + buttons of the group buttons
control have to be pressed and hold for 5 seconds. Below on the display the time for
the therapy duration is shown.
2. If the two + buttons of the group buttons control are pressed and hold again simul-
taneously for 5 seconds, the device will return to the normal operation.
3. In order to reset the therapy memory to 0 again, both – buttons of the group buttons
control have to be pressed and hold simultaneously for 5 seconds.
3.4 Background information of the effectiveness of electro stimulation in the
in continence treatment
It is assumed that the electro stimulation effects on the nerve pudendi and thus a contrac-
tion of the pelvic floor muscles is caused. The sphincter is triggered by electrical current
pulse without activity of the patient. In this so called automatic pelvic floor exercises the
electro stimulation can cause a muscle hypertrophy, an increase in muscle tone and an
improvement of contractility of the pelvic floor and cause a normalization of the reflection
pattern of the sphincter.
Chapter 4 – PLACEMENT OF ELECTRODES AND PROBES
To achieve an optimal result with the electro stimulation, it is important to place the elec-
trodes correctly. Because each person reacts differently to electro stimulation and indi-
vidual needs can different from the preset settings, the user must find himself the optimal
location of the electrode placement.
