1.3 General warnings

EN
Incorrect installation, adjustment, alteration, maintenance or repair may lead to material or envi-
ronmental damage and/or injuries. The appliance should therefore be installed, adapted or con-
verted by a skilled and qualified installer, taking into account national and international regulations.
Faulty installation, adjustment, alteration, maintenance or repair shall render the warranty void.
Appliance.
When installing the Föhn air heaters, you must comply with the national and, if applicable, regional
and local regulations (e.g. gas company regulations, building regulations etc.). The Föhn heater may
only be installed in an area and position suitable for the purpose, see Chapter 2 Installation.
Gas supply and connection.
Before installation, check that the local distribution conditions, gas type and pressure and the cur-
rent adjustment of the appliance all match. An approved gas stop cock must be fitted to the inner
pipeline.
Flue gas routing.
The flue gas exhaust ducts should be as straight as possible; in general terms, the flow resistance
must be kept as low as possible. If the flue gas exhaust duct passes along or through combustible
walls or floors, there must be sufficient free space around the duct to prevent fire.
Air filter
If an air filter is fitted, a dirty filter sensor should always be fitted.
1.4 Always consider your safety
If you smell gas, it is expressly prohibited:
– To ignite an appliance
– To touch electrical switches, or to telephone from the area in question
Take the following action:
– Switch off the gas and electricity
– Activate the operational emergency plan
– Evacuate the building if necessary

2.1 Positioning the heater
After unpacking, check the heater for damage. Check that the information relating to the
type/model and the electrical voltage is correct. Place the appliance so that it stands level on a
clean surface and any accessories on a sufficiently solid structure [1 & 2], taking into account the
minimum free space required [1]. Take particular note of the space needed for servicing and
maintenance. When installing the heater, make sure that it cannot transmit vibration to the build-
ing structure. The use of a vibration-deadening material between the floor and the appliance is
recommended. In the case of horizontal heaters, the air ducts must be designed in such a way
that, when the fan is switched off, hot air cannot flow in the opposite direction to the normal flow
of air. When installing the heater in a boiler room or other room, compliance is required with the
applicable national regulations and any regional or local regulations (e.g. fire department regula-
tions and regulations issued by the building and housing inspectorate). In the case of the Föhn, the
combustion air is taken directly from the boiler room or room in which it is installed. When in-
