Replacing the cartridge

• Close the freshwater supply tap
• Introduce the free end of the tube, which is connected to the water drain into a receptacle of a volume
of at least 0.5 liters / 0.018 cu.ft.
• Open the water drain. Due to the overpressure inside the cartridge, approx. 100 ml water will run off.
• Close the water drain. Remove all connections from the cartridge.
• Close the cartridge inlet and outlet for transport with the yellow covers. You can now dispose of the
cartridge (chap. 11.2).

Performance, lifetime

The measuring equipment to assess the water quality is reusable.
The lifetime of the disposable cartridge depends on the water quality (water hardness) and the water
consumption. We actually estimate the average lifetime at 1 to 1.5 years.
If the freshwater contains salts due to a preceding water treatment installation or additions of chlorine, the
lifetime of the cartridge may be reduced. Max. admissible chlorine content: 0.1 mg/l. Desalinization plants
for sea water have no influence.
