MAINTENANCE / AFTER-SALES
FACOM UCB12 boosters do not require periodical maintenance. Only the following points are required :
-
Inspect the cables and clamps regularly. In case of damage or wear, return the FACOM UCB12 booster
to the FACOM after-sales department for replacement. This replacement shall be invoiced.
-
Use a cloth and soapy water to clean the FACOM UCB12 booster and allow it to dry before use.
-
After improper use, a polarity reversion or connection to 24V, return the FACOM UCB12 booster to the
FACOM after-sales department for a safety check. This check shall be invoiced.
All maintenance operations other than visual inspection or cleaning must be performed only by the FACOM
after-sales department.
Disassembling a FACOM UCB12 booster is a hazardous operation which cancels the guarantee.
Only the FACOM After-sales departmant is authorized to open the booster FACOM UCB12.
USE
The FACOM UCB12 booster is designed to start automotive vehicles with Diesel or petrol engines, fitted with a
12V starting circuit with a battery too weak to ensure autonomous starting.
The product shall be functional only on vehicles in correct condition whose battery voltage exceeds or equals
10.5V.
Before any operation, always check the condition of the vehicle's battery lugs and repair them if required.
Cable storage
When unused, always store the cables to prevent any risk of short -circuit.
Procedure of use
-
Check that the vehicle's ignition is off, the parking brake applied and the vehicle blocked.
Shift the transmission into neutral.
-
First, connect the red + positive clamp terminal to the positive + terminal of the vehicle to start.
-
Then, connect the black - negative clamp to the – negative terminal of the vehicle to start.
-
The battery terminal not connected to the chassis has to be connected first. The other connection is to be
made to the chassis, remote from the battery and fuel Line.
If the alarm BUZZER sounds, disconnect the FACOM UCB12 booster immediately, and wait for the alarm
to stop.
Attention, the reset of the Booster FACOM UCB12 can last several hours.
The alarm is triggered either by reversed polarities or when using the booster on a 24V vehicle or an
inappropriate circuit.
If the battery terminals are not accessible, use the starting terminals planned by the vehicle manufacturer.
-
Wait for at least 20 seconds.
-
Check for the lack of section switch or alarm, and then attempt to start the vehicle.
Once the engine is running, disconnect the FACOM UCB12 booster.
-
If the vehicle does not start, wait for 30 seconds and try starting it again, then if the vehicle still does
not start, disconnect the FACOM UCB12 booster.
To disconnect the FACOM UCB12 booster, first disconnect the red + positive clamp then the black - negative
clamp. Avoid contact between the clamps. Then store the cables and clamps immediately as indicated in the
instructions.
