3. Turn the guard 7 up to the right position and push
the locking lever as indicated in (Fig. 2.1).
4. To take off the guard 7 follow the above described
steps in reverse order.
5. If the locking lever 11 does not hold the guard 7 in
its correct position, use an appropriate wrench (not
included in the standard equipment) to tighten the
nut 22 in (Fig. 2.2).
Assembling the auxiliary handle (see Fig. 3).
Always use the auxiliary handle when
operating with this tool.
1. Set the plate 4 and tighten the screws 3 (Fig. 3.1)
2. Set the auxiliary handle on the plate 4 according to
the instructions in (Fig. 3.2).
3. Follow these instructions in reverse order to take the
auxiliary handle off.
Assembling and dismantling the dust collector
fitting (Fig. 4).
Assemble/dismantle the dust collector fitting according
to the instructions in (Fig. 4).
You can use the standard dust collector fitting 6446073
(2,25 m) or 1746245 (5 m) to connect this tool to any of
our dust collectors AS182K, AS282K, AS382L, ASC682
or ASM582T.
Regulating the position of the fore roller (Fig. 5).
The fore roller 12 should be adjusted as
the sanding wheel gets worn out.
1. Loosen the wing nut 13 (Fig. 5.1).
2. Move the fore roller 12 up or down so that the sanding
wheel is slightly pressed and the two rollers 12 and 15
are in contact with the working surface (Fig. 5.2, 5.3).
3. Tighten the wing nut 13 back (Fig. 5.1).
Assembly and replacement of the sanding wheels
(Fig. 6 and 7).
After installing any accessory perform a
running test before actually operating
with this tool. Turn on the tool and let it
run idle for 30 seconds. Do not use brushes
with radial or axial wear, since they may
increase vibrations and cause failures.
Protective gloves should be worn when
replacing the brush.

1. Press down the tab 14 and remove the guard 8 as
indicated in (Fig. 6.1).
2. Press the lock button on the axle 9. Try to turn the
axle to verify that it can turn free (Fig. 6.2).
3. Insert the washer 27 on the axle 23. Put the locking
pins 19 on the axle 23 (Fig. 7.1).
Do not use damaged pins (burred edge,
misshaped...) or with different length or
profile. Do to assemble the sanding brush
with only one locking pin.
4. Insert the brush 26, the washer 25 and the screw 24
and tighten with the hex wrench provided with this
equipment (Fig. 7.2)
5. Press the button 9 to unlock.
6. Replace the guard 8.
The guard 8 must be correctly positioned
and the tab 14 must fit correctly into
its position.
7. Let the brush 26 roll up several times. It should turn
freely without getting in contact with any of the tool
parts.
6. STARTING UP
Make sure the tool voltage is the same
as the power supply voltage. The ope-
rating voltage is indicated on the tool's
specifications plate.
To turn the tool on, press the rear part of the switch 2
and, while holding it in this position, slide the switch
forwards. Press on the fore part of the switch to lock it
into the ON position.
To turn the tool off, press on the rear part of the switch 2.
7. COLLECTING DUST AND SHAVINGS
Dust and shaving can be sucked to reduce their presence
in the ambience and avoid gathering dust in the working
environment. Always use a dust collector when operating
this tool. The fitting (18) let you connect a dust collec-
ting equipment. You can either use the standard dust
collector fitting 6446073 (2,25 m) or 1746245 (5 m) to
connect this tool to any of our dust collectors AS182K,
AS282K, AS382L, ASC682 or ASM582T.
8. SPECIFICATIONS
Protective system against undesired start up.
