The compact Power Supply HM8040-2
was developed mainly to supply power to
laboratory test systems. The use of this
instrument has become more and more
popular in technical schools and institutions.
The HM8040-2 utilizes conventional design
technology with a linear series regulator
assuring dependable and low-noise output
power. The 3 floating, independent output
voltages provide a maximum capacity of
25Watts.
In addition to the two continuously varia-
ble outputs of 0 - 20V, the HM8040-2 offers
a 5V output which is adjustable by ±0.5V
and is a useful feature when working with
TTL level circuits. Current limiting for both

Transition from voltage to current control is
automatic and clearly indicated. Each 3-digit
display is individually switchable from voltage
to current measurement and all outputs can
be switched off (or on) simultaneously, at
the push of a button. Series or parallel
mode is possible in all voltage ranges. In
addition to low residual ripple and noise as
well as excellent line and load regulation, the
HM8040-2 provides all protective circuitry
necessary to ensure problem-free operation.
This Power Supply will provide an affordable
alternative to more expensive laboratory
instruments. Use only one HM8040-2 with
any other module in a HM8001-2 Mainframe.
