it against humidity and heat (admissible am-
bient temperature range 0 – 40 °C).
For cleaning only use a dry, soft cloth. Do not
use any chemicals or water.
If the meter is used for purposes other than ori-
ginally intended, if it is not operated correctly or
not repaired by authorized, skilled personnel,
there is no liability for possible damage.
If the meter is to be put out of operation defini-
tively, it must be disposed of in a local recycling
plant.

3 Applications

The DMT-610 serves for measuring the surface
temperature of objects. It is not suitable for me-
dical applications! The measuring range ex-
tends from -20 °C to +260 °C.
Measuring is made without contacting the
object by evaluating the infrared radiation of the
object. For exact aligning the spot towards the
measuring object a laser beam is provided which
can be switched on and off.
The infrared radiation depends on the surface
temperature and infrared emissivity of the object.
The emissivity value of objects may be between
0.1 and 1.0. The DMT-610 is factory-set to a
value of 0.95. Thus, 90 % of all typical applica-
tions can be carried out. For your information the
following table shows some emissivities of diffe-
rent objects:
