REMOVING THE IFD® PARTICLE FILTER
CAUTION: Power OFF the air purifier, but leave the unit plugged in to electrical
outlet. Wait 60 seconds before removing the rear grille to check the filters.
WARNING: Filters may be harmful if ingested. Avoid breathing dust when cleaning or
changing filters
When the ifD® Filter is removed, the CHECK FILTERS light will illuminate (it may
already be on if you've been using your air purifier for a while). The CHECK FILTERS
light will shut off when the ifD® Filter is returned to the unit (after cleaning) and the
Electronic Filter Timer will reset back to zero.
• Turn off the air purifier and wait 60 seconds before removing the grille. Do not
unplug from the electrical outlet.
• Press down on the tab on the rear grille and pull the grille down and toward you (Fig.
5). Remove the grille.
• With one hand, hold the air purifier steady and use your other hand to grasp
ifD® Filter and pull out (Fig. 6).
• To place the ifD® Filter back into the air purifier housing, insert it at the bottom and
ensure it is pushed in as far as it can go. Use one hand to support the filter at the
bottom while pressing the top of the filter into place. You will hear an audible "click".
• Return the grille to the air purifier housing. You will hear an audible "click" when the
grille is installed correctly.
• The CHECK FILTERS light will remain illuminated if the ifD® Filter is not properly seated.
CLEANING THE PERMANENT, WASHABLE IFD® FILTER
The Permanent, Washable ifD® Filter should be cleaned every 3 months.
WARNING: Filters may be harmful if ingested. Avoid breathing dust when cleaning or
changing filters
Turn the power off but DO NOT unplug the air purifier. After removing the ifD® Filter from the
air purifier, follow the steps below to clean the ifD® Filter.
• Rinse the filter with clean tap water (Fig. 7).
• If the filter still appears dirty, proceed to "Washing," otherwise proceed to "Drying."
Washing:
• Remove the ifD® Filter from the unit.
• Fill a sink with lukewarm water and add a few drops of mild dish soap.
• Gently swish the filter in the soap solution to clean.
• Soak the filter for 2-3 minutes. DO NOT leave the filter in the water for more than 5 minutes.

Note that the filter may still be discolored even after washing. This is acceptable and will not affect performance.
Drying:
• Shake the filter to remove any excess water.
• Place the filter with the honeycomb side down on a plush towel.
• Allow the ifD® Filter to dry for a few hours or overnight.
• When the ifD® Filter is completely dry, place it back into the air purifier. The CHECK FILTERS light will
automatically shut off and the filter timer will be reset
CAUTION:
• NEVER place a wet ifD® Filter in your air purifier.
• The ifD® Filter is NOT dishwasher safe. DO NOT place the ifD® Filter in a dishwasher or subject it to other
extreme hot water conditions.
