15. WiTabs-Trockenbrennstofftabletten in den Brennerschieber einlegen
(nicht mehr als 2 Stück). Anschließend die Tabletten anzünden. Aus-
schließlich den original WILESCO-Brennerschieber benutzen. Vorsicht:
Unbedingt die notwendigen Sicherheitsmaßnahmen für den Umgang
mit offenem Feuer treffen und beachten.
Der Brennerschieber ist verstellbar. Mit den seitlich angebrachten Löchern, passend zu
der Brennerschieberführung im Kesselhaus, lässt sich die Sauerstoffzufuhr und somit die
Flammenhöhe regulieren. Um ein Trockenheizen des Kessels zu vermeiden, sollte vor je-
dem Nachfüllen mit Brennstofftabletten der Wasserstand geprüft und der Kessel mit
Wasser neu aufgefüllt werden. Das Verhältnis Brennstofftabletten zum Wasserinhalt im
Kessel ist so gewählt, dass der Kessel ohne Nachfüllen von Brennstofftabletten nicht tro-
ckengeheizt werden kann. Der Brennerschieber muss ganz eingeschoben sein, damit
die offene Flamme das Handrad am Wasserablassventil nicht beschädigt! Wichtig:
Nach Beendigung des Heizens den Brennerschieber, während er noch warm ist, al-
so vor dem Abkühlen/Erkalten aus der Führung herausnehmen. Sonst kann sich der
Schieber durch das Verkleben von Brennrückständen festklemmen. Sollte der Brenner-
schieber einmal festsitzen, kann man diesen dann durch ein leichtes Verkanten nach
links/rechts lösen.
Achtung: Die Befeuerung mit Trockenbrennstofftabletten erfordert viel
Sauerstoff. Eine gute Belüftung des Zimmers ist daher notwendig!
Tabletten, die nicht restlos abgebrannt sind, wegen der auftretenden Ge-
ruchsbelästigung nicht ausblasen, sondern unbedingt ausbrennen lassen.
Falls nicht genügend Wasser im Kessel ist, sollte der Brennerschieber auf
eine feuerfesten Unterlage gelegt werden und hier die Brennstofftabletten restlos abge-
brannt werden.
16. Die Lokomobile zunächst einmal ohne Antrieb auf die Hinterachse in Betrieb neh-
men. Hierzu die Antriebskette zwischen dem Zahnrad auf der Schwungachse und dem
großen Zahnrad durch Drehen des Schwungrades und gleichzeitigem leichten seitlichen
Druck auf die Antriebskette von dem Zahnrad herunternehmen. Jetzt das Dampfabsperr-
ventil bei sichtbarer Dampfentwicklung (Manometerstand ca. 1,0 bar) öffnen (Hebel in
senkrechter Position). Das Schwungrad von Hand anwerfen, damit das in der Dampflei-
tung und dem Zylinder befindliche Kondenswasser entweichen kann. Die Dampf-Loko-
mobile beginnt zu laufen. Die Dampf-Lokomobile wird gestoppt, wenn durch das Umle-
gen des Dampfabsperrventils die Dampfzufuhr zum Zylinder unterbrochen wird. Soll die
Lokomobile fahren, zunächst das Dampfabsperrventil schließen und die Antriebskette
wieder auflegen. Das Dampfabsperrventil öffnen und das Schwungrad in die gewünschte
Fahrtrichtung (vorwärts oder rückwärts) anwerfen. Die Fahrgeschwindigkeit kann über
das Dampfabsperrventil geregelt werden. Ohne Antriebskette kann die Lokomobile als
stationäre Dampfmaschine eingesetzt werden. Über die Schnurlaufrolle neben dem
Schwungrad werden die Modelle angetrieben.
17. Der Abdampf (Kondensat) wird vom Zylinder durch ein Rohr in den vorderen Teil
des Kessels unter den Kamin geleitet. Daher ist das Dampfrohr hier auch nicht eingelötet,
da in dem Kondensatbehälter (getrennt vom Kessel) kein Überdruck entstehen kann.
Nach jedem Gebrauch sollte der auf Presssitz aufgesteckte Kamin abgezogen werden.
Vorher das Dampfabsperrventil schließen, die Dampf-Lokomobile stoppen, den Brenner-
schieber herausziehen und auf eine feuerfeste Unterlage legen, bis die Brennstofftabletten
restlos abbrennen. Jetzt zum Entleeren des Kondensats das Modell seitlich nach vorne
kippen. Vorsicht: Verbrennungsgefahr durch heißes Kondensat!
18. Nach Beendigung des Dampfbetriebes und dem Abkühlen sollte die Dampf-Lokomo-
bile gewartet werden. Noch im Kessel vorhandenes Wasser entleeren. Hierzu das Wasser-
ablassventil öffnen und die Dampfpfeife durch leichtes Ziehen an der Kette öffnen - so
entsteht kein Unterdruck beim Entleeren des Restwassers. Vorsicht bei heißem Wasser!
Im Kessel verbleibendes Wasser kann der Funktion nicht schaden, aber evtl. zu Ablage-
rungen an dem Schauglas führen. Kalkrückstände am Wasserstandsschauglas oder im
Kessel auf keinem Fall mit Essig oder sonstigen stark ätzenden Mitteln entfernen
(Empfehlung : Verwendung eines kalklösenden Mittels, welches Messing und Lötzinn
nicht angreift). Eine Rußbildung an der Unterseite des Kessel beeinflusst ebenfalls nicht
die Funktion und kann mit einer Bürste entfernt werden. Zum Abschluss das Modell tro-
ckenputzen.

19. Alle WILESCO - Dampfmodelle sind sorgfältig geprüft. Sollte trotzdem ein Mangel
auftreten, helfen wir oder reparieren die Dampf-Lokomobile. Sie können die Dampf-Lo-
komobile über Ihren Fachhändler oder direkt an uns frei einsenden. Wir bitten um Ver-
ständnis, dass bereits angeheizte/gebrauchte Modelle nicht gegen neue ausge-
tauscht werden können. Die häufigsten Reklamationen sind undichte Dampfkessel. Die
Lötnaht wird durch Beheizung ohne ausreichenden Wasserstand zerstört. In solchen Fäl-
len verflüssigt sich das Lötzinn an der Lötnaht tropfenförmig und der Kessel wird un-
dicht. Dies ist ein eindeutiger Beweis, dass der Kessel trockenbeheizt wurde. Bitte be-
obachten Sie stets sorgfältig den Wasserstand, da eine Trockenbeheizung jegliche
Garantieansprüche ausschließt.
Umweltschutz wird auch bei uns groß geschrieben. Somit haben Sie die Möglichkeit
nach einem langen Dampf-Lokomobilenleben diese und auch die Original-Verpackung
an uns zurückzugeben. (Versandkosten werden nicht übernommen.) Alle zurückgesand-
ten Modelle / Verpackungen werden von uns einem fachgerechten Recycling zugeführt.
Dieses Modell ist ausschließlich für die oben beschriebene Funktion bestimmt.
Technische Änderungen behalten wir uns vor.

precautions for your own safety:
1. For safety reasons, children should run the steam
locomobile
(recommended age: from 8 years on, not recommended
for children under 36 months). During the operation of the
steam model until its complete cooling the engine must be under constant observation.
2. Each irregularity during operation has to be repaired by a competent and authorized
person or by WILESCO themselves. Otherwise any warranty expires.
3. Any unauthorized change, repair or manipulation to the standard specification will
also invalidate the warranty.
4. All parts which are under steam pressure so as boiler, spring loaded safety valve etc.
leave our works only after a 100% examination. The spring loaded safety valve must not
be manipulated. The operation of the steam locomobile without any spring loaded
safety valve is not allowed The function of the spring loaded valve has to be checked
before each operation by pressing the spring or by a small pull on the upper valve rod. If
lime residues caused by hard water are visible on the spring loaded safety valve, it has to
be replaced immediately.
5. High temperatures: The principles on which the engine works mean that the burner
slide, boiler, boiler house, the spring loaded safety valve, the steam pipes etc. become
very hot. Do not touch in order to avoid the risk of burns.
6. Safety precautions: During operation, take care that children do not touch any of the
moving parts.
7. Danger if the boiler is heated without enough water! Always ensure
that there is enough water in the boiler of the steam locomobile. Caution:
When refilling WiTabs dry fuel tablets also refill up to the max. level.. The
water must always be visible at least at the lower end of the sight glass,
otherwise the joints become leaking and the boiler will be destroyed. Any
resulting claim, damage or consequential damage cannot be accepted. If the boiler or any
steam leading part leak, stop the steam model immediately by removing the burner slide.
Any necessary repair should be carried out by authorized staff or at the WILESCO
company.
8. The steam locomobile meets all safety standards and actual regulations. Each boiler
has been submitted to a bursting pressure and water test of 5 bar. The operating pressure
is maximally 1,5 bar.
9. Imperatively keep the operating instructions with your steam locomobile.

10. Filling with water at the first operation and after cooling of the boiler: Unscrew the
spring loaded safety valve and fill the boiler with the funnel up to the water level
maximum (upper end of the sight glass), if possible with warm water. Lift the funnel
slightly during filling so that the air inside the boiler can escape. Use only deficient in
lime water or, even better, water without any lime (e.g. distilled water). Then refit the
spring-loaded safety valve.
11. In order to mount the steam whistle (see point 12), unscrew the oiler and the oiler cap
with the spanner provided with the steam locomobile. Screw the assembling on your
steam locomobile as follows: a) steam whistle, b) manometer, c) spring loaded safety
valve, d) oiler with oiler cap, e) centrifugal governor.
12. Screw the steam whistle onto the boiler. Do use only the spanner provided with the
engine. Do not tighten by turning the lever as this will be damaged. When screwing in the
steam whistle, the lever with the chain should point outwards (use washers if necessary)
so that the chain which operates the whistle does not come in contact with the boiler. Pull
the chain gently to operate the whistle. Note: the steam whistle can be used to check any
overpressure in the boiler.
13. Screw the pressure gauge with sealing ring(s) onto the boiler. Bring its face to the
front side (eventually use further sealing rings of different thicknesses).
14. Let off the steam trough the steam whistle before you oil. There must be no steam
pressure in the boiler. When you lubricate the cylinder, ensure that the water stop
valve (between the boiler and the cylinder) is closed according to the picture (open =
vertical lever, closed = horizontal lever). The water stop valve must remain closed
while lubricating. Then turn off the oil cap and fill in with WILESCO steam Oil (item
n° Z 83) while turning the flywheels several times so that the oil is grawn in. Lubricate
again when you refill dry spirit tablets so that the piston does not seize (2-3 drops oil are
enough for approx. 10 minutes running time). Lubricate lightly all of the bearings and
linkages. Before refilling the boiler with water, check by operating the steam whistle that
no steam pressure is in the boiler.
Caution: Don't operate the steam model near flammable objects or on
temperature-sensitive surfaces. Operation only under windless condition.
15. Place 2 1/2 WiTabs dry fuel tablets upright into the burner slide (not
more than 2 1/2 pcs.) and light them. Use only the original WILESCO
burner slide. Caution: because of the risk of danger from an open
flame, always take the necessary safety precautions. The burner slide
is adjustable. The oxygen supply and the flame height can be adjusted by
moving the burner slide in relation to the air holes at the side of the boiler
housing fitting to the burner slide guide. Before adding new fuel tablets, always check the
water level and refill the boiler with water to ensure that the boiler does not run dry. The
ratio of fuel tablets to the quantity of water in the boiler is designed so that the boiler
cannot run dry without adding fuel tablets. The burner slide must be completely
pushed in the burner slide guide so that the handwheel of the water stop valve is
not damaged. Important: After the heating process, remove the burner slide from
the guide whilst it is still hot, otherwise unburnt fuel may cause the slide to stick. If the
slide becomes stuck, it can be removed by tilting it slightly to the left or right.
Caution: dry fuel tablets require a lot of oxygen to burn properly. That is
the reason why, for an indoors use, the room should be well
ventilated. To prevent unpleasant smells, the fuel tablets should be burnt
out - they should not be blown out. If there is not enough water in the
boiler, place the burner slide on a fireproof plate until the tablets have
burned out completely.
16. First operate the locomobile without the drive to the rear axle. To do so, remove
the chain wich links the cog-wheel on the axle of the flywheel with the big gear wheel.
Gently press the chain outwards, turning simultaneously the flywheel. When the water
starts to boil (approx 1 bar), open the steam regulator - the lever should be vertical. Turn
the flywheel by hand to let the condensation in the pipes and the cylinder escapes. The
steam locomobile will start to operate. Stop the steam locomobile by closing the steam
regulator. The supply of steam is then cut off. If you wish to drive the locomobile, first
close the steam regulator and then replace the drive chain. Open the steam regulator and
