4. Fill the Kettle with 1 Liter (Quart) of cold tap water and bring to a boil.
Add 500 ml (2 cups) of white vinegar and let stand for at least 1 hour
or overnight. Discard.
5. Fill the kettle to the maximum fill line with cold tap water. Bring to a
boil and discard. Repeat.
6. The kettle is ready to use.
HOW TO USE
1. Open the Kettle Cover by pressing the center button. Fill the Kettle
with water between the MIN and MAX marking, through the lid opening.
NOTE: DO NOT attempt to fill while the Kettle is on the Power Base.
DO NOT use for other than boiling water. Other liquids will contami-
nate the interior of the Kettle.
DO NOT fill past the MAX level indicated on the kettle. Overfilling may
cause water to spill out when boiling.
2. Place Kettle on Power Base making sure it is correctly engaged on
the Power Base.
3. Plug Power Base cord into a 120V AC wall outlet. NOTE: Never plug
Power Base with empty Kettle into the electrical outlet.
4. Press the On/Off Switch to the 'On' position (I). The blue lights inside
the Kettle will illuminate to indicate that the Kettle is in the boil cycle.
Once the water has boiled, the On/Off Switch will automatically switch
to the 'Off' position and the Lights will go out.
NOTE: Direct kettle spout away from cabinets, walls, etc. to prevent
possible steam damage.
5. If you want to use the Kettle again, allow the thermal safety switch to
cool down for 15 – 20 seconds then press the On/Off Switch to the
'On' position (I). If the On/Off Switch does not remain in the 'On' position,
the water is hot enough to use without reheating.
6. Depress the On/Off Switch ('I'/'O') and the indicator light will light up to
