Installation

BikeBase

Refer to Figure 1 for installation sequence of fastening
hardware.
1. Place the top plate on top of the A-frame, tow bar or
tube.
2. Place a flat washer on a
NOTE: The accompanying fastening hardware is
compatible for tubing up to 5" in depth. Users will need
to supply longer bolts for deeper tubing applications. The

bolts should be 1 " longer than the depth of the tubing in
order to provide adequate thread engagement.
3. Place bottom plate under the A-frame or tow bar and
align holes with top plate.
4. Insert bolt with washer through top plate and into the
corresponding hole in the bottom plate.

6. Finger tighten the nut.
7. Repeat steps 2 and 4-6 for the remaining bolts.
8. With a crisscross or a circular pattern, use a
to firmly tighten all four nuts to approximately 23 ft-lbs.
NOTE: When tightening the nuts, take care to ensure the
top plate is not tilted and remains flat on top of the tubing.
9. Hold the first nut on the bolt with a wrench and install a
second nut behind it. Tighten the second nut firmly to lock
both nuts to the bolt.
10. Repeat step 9 for the remaining nuts and bolts.
NOTE: The orientation of the bolts does not matter. If there
is a concern about clearance under the tow bar, the bolts
may be installed from the bottom upward. The nuts and
washers can be applied on the top and bottom plates of
the BikeBase in the same order as in step 2.
