Operation instruction
The laminator is suitable for both cold and hot laminating. The 3 temperature settings offers optimal result
for various pouch thicknesses. This manual will explain you how to utilize the various settings and how to
utilize the product correctly.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
1. Connect power cord to an appropriate power source. Switch the power switch (5) on; all led lights (4) will
briefly lit up and an acoustic signal will be given. The laminator is ready to be used for cold laminating
once the first led is lit, please go to step 4 for further operation instructions.
2. For HOT laminating, press the mode button (3) once. to start the warm-up process. By pressing this but-
ton once the laminator will warm-up to a temperature suitable for 80 micron pouches. Press the mode
button (3) to toggle through the 4 temperature settings (cold, 80, 100, 125 micron) and choose the ap-
propriate setting to match pouch thickness.
3. In the 80 micron setting it takes about 4 minutes to reach operational temperature. Room temperature
effects ready time significantly. Visual and acoustic signals indicate operational state: a flashing led indi-
cates that the warm-up process is still in progress, a continuously lit led and an acoustic beep indicates
it is user ready. A thicker pouch setting means a longer warm-up period.
4. Centre the laminating item into a laminating pouch (max. 125 micron) so that the borders are even on all
the sides (Figure 2). The suggested margin between the content and the sealed edge is no larger than 3
mm; the suggested margin in the left, right, and the open end is larger than 3 mm (Figure 3). Never lami-
nate a small object in a large pouch because excessive plastic will melt, and eventually scorch, as there
is no document in between to capture the heat. The rollers will get stuck and your laminator will need to
be repaired (beyond warranty).
5. The material that is to be laminated, is not allowed to be thicker than 0.4 mm including the film.
6. Insert the pouch with the item, sealed-edge first, straight into the laminator inlet (1). Hold the pouch
until the machine automatically pulls it in.
7. The laminated item will automatically exit the outlet (2) of the pouch laminator. After the pouch has
stopped moving, the pouch can be removed.
8. When a misfeed or jam occurs, push the reverse/forward button (6) in reverse position. The pouch will
be reversed and will exit the laminator through the entry slot. To resume laminating, press the button (6)
back in forward position.
9. This laminator is equipped with an Auto shut-off function, which means it will shut-off after 60 minutes
of inactivity. It will beep 3 times before all LED's (4) turn off. In this mode there is still a weak electric
current, please move the switch (5) to 'off' position to shut if off completely.
PRECAUTION
1. If the laminator is turned on and has not been used for more than 45 minutes, excessive heat may have
build up in the machine. To avoid overheating and its consequent inferior laminating result, insert a piece
of copy paper into the machine to remove the excessive heat before your formal laminating.
2. As soon as the lamination of the picture is finished, remove the laminated picture immediately to pre-
vent the pouch from curling due to overheating.
3. If white spots appear on the laminated pictures, it means the temperature is not high enough. Turn the
front end behind and insert the picture into the machine to laminate one more time.
4. The picture has to be laminated on both sides. One side lamination is prohibited to prevent film from be-
ing rolled into the machine.
5. DO NOT insert the open end of the pouch into the machine to prevent it from being rolled into the ma-
chine.
6. Be certain to open the flip guide, also during warm-up, to avoid overheating.
